I was born in San Salvador, El Salvador on February 10th, 1984. During my childhood I spent a lot my time with my father, he is a Civil Engineer and he used to travel all over El Salvador. I used to go with him most of the time; in fact, I think this is the point of my life where I developed strong bonds with my father, and the curiosity to go out and discover new places became permanent in my life. My days in high school were full of misbehaviour and social change in my mind. It was a time in life where I thought that I had all the answer for all the questions.
When I started at University, my misbehaviour stopped, but my thoughts about politics and social change remained with me. This period of my life is the one that taught how to observe beyond the limits and to understand the reality with a critical thinking. I spent my early 20’s working for a construction company based in San Salvador; also, at this point in life after being on and off from school, I decided that become a Civil Engineer was not my thing, so I decided to study Business.
My life changed in 2007, I left everything behind and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. I started a new life here in the bay, new job, new family, and a few new friends. In 2011, this is the point in my life where I seriously started doing photography.
My approach for photography is changing my life every day. My sense of appreciation of everything around me has become deepest every day. Also, the more I learn, the more I realize that I need to learn more. I can’t call myself a photographer, I still have a lot to learn, I still need to gain more experience and develop a clear a vision of what I am doing, but I really enjoy my time behind the camera, when I look around for my subjects, when I stand next to a lake and enjoy the moment, when I see the last minutes of the sun hitting the top of the mountains, all these moments are priceless and make me feel that I am going on the right path.
