Some people asked questions about how the photo "Love in the Time of Cholera" was taken and processed, so I decided to post a brief description here of what I've done (well, at least what I remember...).
The photo was taken at 420mm and I cropped it, so it's a really long focal lenght. The sun was about to set, and the light came from around 20 degrees to the left from where the camera was aimed.
In the processing, basically I cleaned it up a little bit using "dust and scratches" filter, reduced noise with "Neat image" plugin, and then I added back a little bit of noise to overcome the overprocessed look after noise reduction. I mapped tones converting a duplicated layer in mode "luminosity" to black and white and playing around with red and yellow ranges. After this step, I brought saturation back (in hue/saturation) and did some levels adjustments.
