Evan Olson was born in 1988 in Santa Monica, CA. He grew up in Phoenix, Arizona and spent much of his youth outdoors. One of the main influences during his early years was the Boy Scouts of America. At age 13, he earned his Eagle Scout award, the youngest in Troop history. His love of mountains was instilled by yearly trips to Rocky Mountain National Park with his family. Evan studied Aerospace Engineering at ASU and is currently working at an Aerospace Company in Tucson and pursuing his Masters in Astronautical Engineering at USC.
It wasn’t until age 22 that Evan started photography. He initially focused on Astrophotography since one of his other passions is Space Exploration. He quickly realized that he enjoyed taking photographs of everything, not just celestial objects. For the next two years he experimented with several different aspects of photography, from Weddings to Auto Racing. He soon realized that Nature and Landscape photography was his true passion. Evan spends the majority of his weekends exploring the Southwest and makes several trips to various National Parks every year.
Evan has obtained several awards including: People’s Choice Award and 2nd place in the Jones Photo June-Mountains Competition, multiple Photographers Forum Finalist and Honorable Mentions. He has also been published in the Arizona Republic. Evan is currently working on building his portfolio and honing his skills.
