I live in one of the biggest provincial towns of Franconia (Bavaria, Germany): WÜRZBURG. In English you would call it „Spicecastle“. Hearing the word „spice“ in Germany we also think about photographing. Because we eat „scharfe Speisen“ (spicy dishes) and we shoot „scharfe Fotos“ (sharp photographs). Eminently „scharf“ (strange) as well „unscharf“ (blurred) are the photographs, that has invented in Würzburg by the most famous „photographer“ of the world. His name was Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen and his photographs are called Röntgenbilder (radiographes). „Scharf“ (strange) as well „unscharf“ (uncertain) also is the „Unschärferelation“ (Uncertainty Relation) of the nuclear physicist Werner Heisenberg, who was born in my hometown. Incidentally as well as the „schärfste“ (strangest) basketball player of the Dallas Mavericks – Dirk Nowitzki. Because he also comes from „Spicecastle“.
Let’s share sharp and strange photographs!
