Yes! After 3 years my name shows up again among the winners of the most important Photography Award ever: the Sony World Photography Awards. But this year I'm listed in the professionals category.
This time I'm not in the Finalist, but I'm shortlisted in the first 10 [probably the 6th] among 54083 photographer coming from 171 countries. in the Professional Category "Fine Art-Conceptual". What a huge achievement!
My winning series is named "Spied Solitude"
and it's a study on the concept of loneliness: landscapes and human silhouettes lose their identity and let the concept become the main subject.
The photos were taken in California during august 2011, taking advantage of the famous fog of California's summer. The body of work is made of pictures shot in the whole area of the bay from San Francisco to Fremont, from Big Basin Redwoods to Point Reyes bay plus one in Milan.
So once again my works will be exhibited in the SWPA World Tour that will start in London on April the 27 at the Somerset House.
I'll be in London for a 3 days with my girlfriend for the gala dinner and the inauguration of the exhibition so, to all my UK friends, if you wish to meet me you know where I'll be ;)
I'm in seventh heaven!
