Dr. Greg Forcey was born in rural north-central Pennsylvania. As a child, he spent many hours outside and quickly became fond of different wildlife species, especially birds. In May 2006, he completed his Ph.D. in Zoology at North Dakota State University. Currently, Greg is a Senior Avian Ecologist for Normandeau Associates in Gainesville, Florida and is heavily focused with working on issues surrounding wind turbine and wildlife interactions.
Greg's primary interest outside of work is photography, with wildlife being his favorite genre. His interest in photography started in 1991 with a Minolta 5000i 35mm film SLR camera, and in 1998 he switched to a Nikon F5 film camera. Today Greg's photography is strictly done with Nikon digital SLRs and a wide assortment of lenses ranging from 14 mm to 600mm. He shoots strictly in RAW mode and processes his images with Adobe Lightroom 4 on a Macbook Pro.
In addition to photography, Greg enjoys strength training, bicycling, canoeing, hiking, and going to concerts.
