George Vardakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1968. He lives in Heraklion , Crete, Greece, he is married and has 2 children. He is a dental surgeon with a doctorate degree in periodontology. ​He was involved with photography at the beginning of his doctorate in 1997, and in 2010 he began classes for amateur photographers in Hellenic Photographic Society of Crete. He is an active member of this photoclub since then. He participated for first time in 2011 in national competion organized from Hellenic Photographic Society of Greece He started participating in international salons in 2011. He has won since then, numerous accepted photographic works in Salons in different countries (USA, Slovenia, Holland, Argentina, China, Serbia, Austria, etc), one UPI Gold medal, one silver medal and several mentions of Honor. The work MEMORIES was elected 3rd from the National Geographic Magazine . He is a member of P.S.o.C. ( Photographic Society of Crete), UPI (United photographers International) and PSA ( Photographic Society of America).
