Halit Omer Camci was born in Ordu in 1975. He started to take pictures in 1995. He attended to Istanbul University and graduated in 2000.
For the last 10 years, he has worked as a photojournalist, photo-editor and photographer in various magazines, newspapers, and drama sets. He held exhibitions in Chicago, Jakarta, Damascus, Colombia, and Istanbul. In Turkey, his photographs were exhibited in many places including the main exhibition centers in many cities, most of them in Istanbul. He gave speeches, contributed to the panels about photography.
He has traveled to almost all the cities of Turkey to shoot pictures and photographed many countries around the world as well. He has produced and directed a short film and he won several awards in photography. “Mawlana Jalaluddin Rumi, Tulip, the Islamic Architecture, the Flowers of Turkey, the Sacred Journey-Pilgrimage” are some of the subjects he has studied on.
He has many photograph-album books and has also taught a class in “Reading Photographs” at the Science-Art Foundation (BSV). He has been the owner and chief editor of a magazine, Gezgin/Kultur, for a six year.
