It's been a long, twisting, journey since I loaded my first roll of film into my father's Nikon EM many years ago. School, work, and life got in the way somewhere between then and now and this hobby took a back seat for a long time, but I've rediscovered the joy of capturing a single moment in time. The title of my portfolio isn't meant to be an expression of my ego; I'm still learning new things every time I pick up the camera. Rather, it's a way of describing what I seek when I put my eye to the finder: strong lines, bold shadows, vibrant colours, expression, and emotion. Amazing things are hidden in plain sight every day, sometimes only revealing themselves when one eye is closed and the other is pressed up to a tiny window. In short, my work is all about seeing that little bit "extra" in the ordinary.
