except for incidental freelance work for 'old' clients as a journalist/writer and photographer/photojournalist, i fully enjoy my retirement. i still do my old job, but now unpaid and only for my own pleasure and enjoyment. but i still love the journalistic approach in photography. and i like to focus on reportage and the visualization of things that others do not see. this - i think - also explains my love for street photography. and since there are no longer clients who demand color photographs, i have my camera set to b&w most of the time to avoid the sometimes occurring urge to use color - what i, in my case, would consider a weakness, though i have to admit that color settings on my cameras are not always superfluous.
a great deal of my time i spend volunteering as a guide in the national monument camp vught, the memorial center of the former ss-concentration camp near 's-hertogenbosch in the netherlands. i do guided tours for school classes and adult groups.
