Most of my camera's were inexpensive and I always used automatic. Never pleased with the pictures I took, I told myself one day I will buy me a better camera and learn how to use it like the photographers do.
Winter of 2008 I purchased my first DSLR camera and with the help of books, the internet, various photographers who's work inspired me and photography magazines articles were my teachers in my personal education into photography.
I am self taught but I think more than anything it is my interconnection with Mother Earth that has help me to achieve a feeling of wonder and awe with my pictures.
I can't really find the words to express my intense love for the beauty of nature and how grand and wonderful it is to capture moments of her beauty. Being out in nature looking for her to show off for me, I am filled with an inner peace and calm, yet always excited that she will share yet more wonders and beauty with me.
At the end of a day and my compact flash card is full, I am equally excited to get home and look at the photos I captured that day. Putting that compact flash card into the computer and waiting for the images to open is like a child opening Christmas gifts, sheer excitement and joy. Not all images are what I may have wanted but for me if one or two out of several hundred are great then I have been blessed.
It is pure love for the beauty of nature that drives me to become better so I can better show the beauty of Mother Earth, I thank all those wonderful photographers who don't even know their work inspired me to learn.
