imagN is the work of Andre Porter, a Middle Tennessee (Nashville Area) based photographer. Andre was Los Angeles born and Meridian, Mississippi reared. He spent most of his adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area managing small businesses, an internet retail site, and then educational programs for older learners at UC Berkeley. Andre attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated from California State University, East Bay with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He studied Photography at Memphis College of Art. When asked about the beginning of his interest in photography, he states, "I started photography in high school, around 1981-1982, when I "borrowed" my step-father's Mamiya/Sekor 35mm." Andre shoots mostly digital today, but still believes in and enjoys film Photography for some projects. He says it keeps him honest. Andre enjoys beauty in many forms; art, architecture, flowers, landscape, people. He loves traveling, experiencing different cultures through art and food, and photographing it all.
