500px photo party..!

Published August 7th, 2011

...turned out to be great. Wasn't sure I was gonna be able to make it but am sure glad I did! The photo party kicked off at 1pm today at Yonge & Dundas. We were welcomed by Jen and Andrey and given a tour of the 500px.com HQ. Amazing seeing the kind of product they've been able to give us with what they're working with; a surprisingly tiny space with all of 6 people. Kudos guys! A few questions and answers at the office followed by the walk kick off...

It was great seeing the turnout and meeting and talking with everyone. I hope they'll do this more often. Could not talk to everyone today but it was a great mix of people with newbies and amateurs to professionals.

Thanks everyone for joining and thanks to 500px for organizing this! Loved walking around - maybe one for the fall when it is nice and pleasant.

I hope people would be more keen to share their knowledge with the rest of the community.

Loving the site so far

Published June 21st, 2011

I am loving the site so far. Brilliant artists on here... the community is still vibrant but I am guessing only until the site is still in take off mode. I wish and hope it doesn't end up being like flickr.

I don't necessarily like the "dislike" button though. That, first of all, is a very harsh word and there are quite a few photos I found which I didn't really care for, for a variety of reasons but hitting the dislike button is not really something I want to do. Should probably be changed to something a little less harsh/rude sounding.
