I'm a technology professional who's caught the photography bug. I started taking pictures back in 1999 on my Olympus C-2000 Zoom camera. I didn't really get too into it because the pictures were only 1600x1200, I could fit only about 32 pictures on a 16MB memory card, and I'd be lucky to get 60 pictures on a charge. In 2007, I bought a Canon Powershot SD800 IS, on which I really went nuts until I hit the limits of what it could really do (i.e. night shots were a struggle, and it didn't give me much creative control). November 2011 I bought a Nikon D7000 and I've generated many times more picture and video data from it than all the prior 11 years combined.
