The Canadian Rockies

Published September 10th, 2012

Some of the amazing highlights from my trip to the Canadian Rockies. I visited many of the iconic places as it was my first visit and I wanted to capture the scenes the area is known for. I also found a few unexpected shots that trilled me just as much. I definitely will be returning for more and in the hopes to explore some lesser known areas. Enjoy!

Alpenglow at Moraine Lake

"Alpenglow at Moraine Lake"
A red glow lights the peaks above Moraine Lake.

This is an alternative and more traditional view compared to my other "rock pile" photograph. It was also taken closer to sunrise than the other image.

Peyto Lake

One of the few places that looks best in bright midday light. Without the sun the lake's color is washed out and flat.

Mount Edith Cavell

"Mount Edith Cavell"
An amazing area of beauty surrounded by ice, I was thwarted in my attempt to visit by a fallen glacier. This was to be my only view of the mountain. I count myself lucky that I didn't follow my original plans to be there the morning the road was destroyed.
