I live and work in Norway, mainly as an illustrator and graphic designer – now also as a photographer and writer.
My father was a dedicated photographer and bought me a used camera for Christmas when I was 9. A couple of years later my family built a house – with a darkroom in the basement!
I did a lot of photography and processing in the next years, but I more or less abandoned creative photography for family pictures after my (3) children were born.
My passion for photography awakened again when the digital cameras entered the stage. My first digital camera was the Apple QuickTake 100, which always made my Mac crash after the picture files had been transferred!!! But just like when I got my first Mac, a spark had been ignited, and I attended a photo workshop in Ireland in 1997 that was a great boost for my photographic career. It was wonderful to be "back again"!
In the summer of 2006 I attended the Arles Photo Festival and a photographic workshop, also in Arles. I stayed another week in the same district after the festival, and did street photography every day from morning till night! I learnt a lot in this period, and many of my published images are from this place.
I love to work in the digital darkroom, and I completely disagree that the fascination of post processing left the world together with film based photography (as some film enthusiasts say). I love to enhance and fine tune my photos in Lightroom and Photoshop.
500px.com seems to be one of the best places to exhibit photos and learn from others, and I like the design of this site. I also have accounts with flickr, google+ and 1x.com. See you in cyberspace somewhere!
Looking forward to new acquaintances and lots of new, stunning photographs...
