I'm an amateur who many years ago combined my passion for walking with photography, using both 35mm and 6x6 cameras. After leaving my native England for France and trying to build a new life, I've 'rediscovered' my old hobby, thanks to a digital camera and like so many others, would like to eventually supplement my income with photography. I'm a great fan of beautiful landscapes and have a passion for the Isle of Skye in Scotland. For the technically minded, I work on an imac (and sometimes an ipad 2) using Nikon NX, Aperture 3 and Snapseed. Recently I've been participating in competitions and exhibitions, sometimes with good results but at other times totally demoralized by the inconsistant judging! But within the first 24 hours of creating my account with 500px, my attitude towards my photos and photography in general has been transformed. My motivation has increased a hundredfold by being able to see the work of so many other photographers and receive so much encouragement and positive criticism.
