I am Joseph Rotindo, and I am an emerging fine-art photographer living in Quebec. I have had a camera in my hands since I was five years old, and I have been taking pictures for over 30 years now.
I primarily use a Pentax K10 D camera for most of my images, though earlier works were shot with a Fuji S7000. The economy notwithstanding, I would like to be able to one day upgrade to a medium format digital camera and see what "real" resolution is...
Most of the inspiration behind these works comes from a conglomerated mix of impressionist and abstract/expressionist painters, including Monet, Manet, Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and photographers including Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, and many little-known (but very talented) photographer co-member/peers from a now-defunct website called "15x100.com".
My photographs have received "Honorable Mentions" at the 2010 and 2011 International Photography Awards, and have appeared in Color Magazine, and Diffusion Magazine. I have been published in four editions of the book "The Best of Photography Annual" (2007-2009, 2011), and I have received "Finalist Awards" from the 2007-2009, 2011 Spring Photography Competiton, sponsored by Photographer's Forum Magazine. I have been nominated "Photographer of the Week" both at the Focus Project 2011, and at JPG Magazine.
My photography has also been featured at Upstream People Gallery, and next month three more photographs will appear in the "Small Change" Exhibit, at Art Mundo Art Bank in Fort Pierce, Florida. In addition, my work has appeared in Canadian band "Third Place's" debut album, "Lifeland".
