I am a newcomer to avian photography having only started in 2010 but quickly realizing that my passion would be birds in flight...not that I don't take pictures of birds and other wildlife on perches or various settings.
These past two years have been an incredible journey where I have been found walking in complete darkness before sunrise along the coasts of East and West Florida, standing waste deep in water several miles off shore with camera on tripod waiting for sunrise near an Audubon refuge, visiting numerous protected wildlife refuges and wetland areas, going to Bosque Del Apache, New Mexico and standing in pontoon boats in the middle of lakes photographing birds. Hobby or insanity?
I continue to be awed by nature..especially her winged creatures...by their beauty, their instinctual intelligence and their particular behavioral patterns. What amazes me even more is the reality of nature itself...sometimes harsh and graphic, but always beautiful and truthful to the laws of survival. All of my experiences have reinforced my belief that we have a responsibilty to protect our environment and our wildlife...after all, we are just one of many species that inhabit our world, which we call Earth. Thank you for looking at my pictures.
