Beer Tasting Blog

Published May 17th, 2012

I've been thinking about starting a blog about one of the things I really enjoy in life: Tasting beer.

My parents have been on vacation for a while, so I tried my hands on some product photography! The first thing I could think of to put my setup to the test were some beer bottles I had laying around. I tried 2 beer bottles and was happy with the result I got.

I decided it would be fun to start reviewing different kinds of beer just for fun, mixed with a product shot, and to be posting my findings online. I'm even thinking about buying a domain name, and starting an entire website just for this.

I've decided to use the same glass I've been using for a while now, which is a Jupiler Tauro glass I got at an introduction event of Jupiler a couple of years ago. It holds 33 cl which is the most used amount of beer bottles in Belgium. Maybe I'll change to another glass in the future. Some of you will say it's sacrilegious to use any other glass then the glass that is designed for a beer, ...

Keeping you guys updated

Published April 21st, 2012

If you're still reading this, I thank you, because I've been neglecting my social interwebs life for a bit now.

My parents are going to Ecuador for 1 month, so I have the house all by myself. I plan on using this month to reflect on myself, see where I want to be in a while, and how to get there. I'll also be doing a few shoots, to see if I still have it in me, and what I can improve. I'll be using the living room to do shoots, instead of my small room. So I hope this extra space will provide me with some new interesting possibilities.

I'll keep you guys updated in the near future!

Some small updates

Published February 19th, 2012

It's been a while since I've seen this "write a new blogpost" window, so it's about time I did something about it.

I've nothing major to update you guys about. Just some small things, which could eventually become big things.

First of all. The camera in my previous blog got stolen during a shoot, too bad, but oh well, life goes on. I'm getting the films developed next week, and if I like the results I got with the camera, I'll buy another one in time.

next thing on the list: I decided to ease up on the model shoots. I feel like I've been doing it for a while, and I've accomplished nearly nothing with it, so it's time to try some new things.

Last but not least. I've been wanting to get out of my parental house. I have a steady job, which allows me to go and live by myself. I'm going apartment hunting this Tuesday, to an apartment I really like, and is immediately available. So if all goes well, I could be writing the next blogpost from the comfort of my own place. Expect some new ...

Mamiya 645 Pro

Published January 16th, 2012

Today I bought something I've been wanting for a long time! A Mamiya medium format camera!

This model was produced in 1995, and is in very good condition. I bought the 80mm F/2.8 with it, which corresponds to a 50mm on 35.

The prism finder was included with this camera, along with the motordrive, giving me a lightmeter, automatic film advance, and Aperture priority mode, which is really nice.

I'm shooting my first roll at the moment, and I'll report back when I get it developed.

Prague Day 2

Published January 12th, 2012

Long sleep today, we got up at 8.30, took our breakfast, and went back to the room. Showered and went out at 12.

We went to the Charles Bridge to begin with, then going to the old town square and everything around there. We went back over the bridge, and walked right up the hill where the monastery is. We took some pictures of the city, and went back down with a special cable lift.

We went back to the hotel pretty early, to enjoy a very nice and cheap diner in the hotel, followed by a beer and an early sleep, seeing we had to get up at 3 in the morning to catch our flight back to Belgium.
