I've been into photography since my first few years of college. It started as a byproduct of doing an astronomy degree and gradually grew out from there. I've spent a great deal of time working with imaging systems all the way form spectrometers, astronomical CCD systems to your run of the mill digital SLRs. I've imaged supernovae in distant galaxies, binary asteroids as they whizzed by our little planet, a few brides at weddings, some ballet dancers, numerous landscapes, and some birds that like to hang out by my porch.
I'm a very shy peson and the camera gives me an excuse to engage other people and break out of my little awkward shell.
I am proficient with all manner of small flash but I prefer the Nikon CLS system for its simplicity, versatility, and low cost.
Currently I do some photography professionally, teach a couple of workshops, and do some systems administration/development. I wear a lot of hats.
