I’m a self-taught photographer based in Saddleworth on the edge of Manchester, a small collection of villages nestling in the Pennines on the Manchester/Yorkshire border. I might be biased, but it’s a beautiful place and somewhere I’ve lived most of my life, apart from spells at University, in the south of England and living abroad with work.
I’ve been interested in photography, especially wildlife photography for a long, long time but it’s only in recent years that I’ve started taking photographs I’m particularly pleased with. I remember the anticipation of getting a film back from the developers, only for it to be replaced with the disappoinment of thinking “but that’s not how I expected them to turn out!”
So with the advent of affordable digital cameras I took the plunge and bought myself a “proper” camera and started learning how to use it. It’s since been pensioned off in favour of an upgrade and I’ve got a steadily growing bag of different sized lenses, and other bits and pieces.
It’s been a fun and enjoyable ride, I’ve made a lot of good friends on the way and am enjoying my photography more than ever.
