Michael Ernest Sweet (1979) is an award-winning Canadian educator, writer and photographer.
His first full-length published collection of street photography, The Human Fragment, is forthcoming in the winter of 2013 from Brooklyn Arts Press in New York City. A second monograph of his work from Coney Island is being released from Thumbnail Press in 2014.
Michael's signature high-contrast, gritty, monochrome images of the human and urban fragment have been widely published in dozens of magazines throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.
Michael Sweet has been awarded a national Prime Minister's Award in Canada as well as the Diamond Jubilee Medal by Queen Elizabeth II for significant contributions to education and the arts. Michael is also noted in the Canadian Who's Who from the University of Toronto Press.
Michael Sweet divides his time between Montreal and New York City.
