I was born and raised in Sileby in Leicestershire in the east Midlands and I have had a digital compact camera for years but rarely used it other than on holidays etc. It was because of one of these holidays that I bought myself a bridge camera May 2009. I was in Tunisia and went to visit a zoo, it was when I was trying to zoom in to a pair of lions in an enclosure, with my massive 3x zoom, that I became insanely jealous of a guy that appeared next to me with a DSLR and what must have been at least a 300mm telephoto lens attatched. So when I got home I searched the internet looking for a camera with a massive zoom and bought a Fujifilm Finepix s8100fd with an 18x zoom. I got quite into photography with this camera, I tried macro stuff, landscapes, wildlife as well as holiday snaps. But I soon felt like the camera was restricting me too much so I got my first DSLR in May 2010, I bought a Canon 450D and I loved it. I work with a local photographer, Sharp Photography, we specialise in weddings and portraits but we're always open to try anything. Its because of this part time work that I upgraded to a Canon 7D in May 2012. I love all aspects of photography, but I think my real passion lies in wildlife and landscapes, I just wish that I made more time for myself to get out there and do it.
