A small collection of my photos by some of the lakes in the centra Florida area. The weather here allows for various amounts of scenery, ranging from beautiful sunny days, fogged over winter scenes, and the typical Florida summer afternoon thunderstorm.

This collection is oddly relaxing. It's not long exposure, though it looks like it. It appears deceptively easy to set up, but requires control of your environment to keep AC currents from completely dissipating the smoke before you can capture the form.

Get some string.

Get a keyring flashlight.

Attach both to each other and spin in front of an open shutter in a dark room.

During one of the last "cold" weeks in Florida, a group of re-enactors gathered at the Dade Battlefield Historic State Park in Florida. The theme for that particular weekend was World War II. This being a small gathering only militaries were represented: The United States and Germany. While it would have been nice to see the other nations represented, I still managed to have a good time and take a few photos.

I look forward to one moment of the Rolex 24 every year—the sunset. On the infield section of the track, the light that is cast as the sun sets is quite beautiful. I originally discovered this by accident, thinking the shot had been ruined by the light, but then I was struck by what was going on in the image and decided to take more like it. A happy accident if you will.
