I was an avid film photographer in the 1970's with a home darkroom, but stopped shooting in 1980. In 2006, my wife gave me a Canon 5D for my birthday and said "you need a hobby." I have since taken over two spare bedrooms as studios, with equipment spilling into the hallway.

Fortunately, after 40 years of marriage, my wife knew what to expect and has never begrudged me any of the money or time I now put into it. :)
