Since age 12, photography has been Dennis's passion, but for over 10 years now, it has also been his living. He sells his work as prints, licenses it for reproduction and teaches photography through tours and workshops, which he does with his partner in work and life, Antje Springmann. Their company is The Human Nature Company. Dennis strives to make his work quiet, contemplative, evocative and filled with light. Always he seeks to inspire in the viewer a deeper connection with the natural world. He says that photography can be a powerful tool to communicate through the eye to the heart and bring new awareness and respect for our amazing world. His path to professional photography has taken him through more than 30 years of both local and international work as an environmental educator; park designer and manager; author of both educational and photographic books and electronic media; multimedia developer and eco-tour guide. His extensive work as an educator and nature interpretor contributes to has considerable skill as a photography instructor. Although he travels the world as a tour leader his favourite place is Newfoundland, Canada where he was born and has lived for most of his life. Newfoundland roots him. After half a lifetime of shooting, he is still overwhelmed by its visual richness. If you would like to know more about their tours and workshops visit The Human Nature Company (http://thehumannaturecompany.ca/) Also, he invites you to visit his blog, Shaped by Light, where he share views, stories, opinions and tips on photography, environmental issues, or other musings. Hope you enjoy his work.
