Michael James has been involved in media and the arts since graduating from high school. After completing an audiovisual communications diploma, he began working as a broadcast news photographer. Throughout his career, Michael has taught photography and video production, worked in media relations, and now is a website manager. In addition to his day job, Michael does work for many corporate clients. “I love taking pictures- it’s how I express myself. Taking a good photo is my creative outlet.” Michael has his images in private residences and businesses. He’s had opportunities to be a few small art shows and had his work showcased in a gallery where he works. Michael’s pictures continue to sell complemented by the custom rustic frames he builds in his home workshop. “Landscape and nature photography is my passion - it’s awesome to be out at sunrise and see a mountainside or field illuminate in the first light of the day. The peace and quiet of sunrise or sunset and the spectacular light are what make me love landscape photography.” In addition to his landscape work, Michael oftens works for clients such as the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Police Service and many other corporate clients. He provides photography for many types of situations specializing in location and event photography.
