Matt is, by profession, an electrochemist at the University of Southampton, where he is currently busy writing his PhD thesis. The travel opportunities that come with being a scientist is partly what inspired Matt to buy his digital SLR about a year ago. Since then he has been steadily learning his way around the camera and the digital darkroom, hopefully improving the quality of his photos along the way. The quality of work from photographers of all experiences on this site is incredible, I look forward to learning from and being inspired by others on here as I try to improve my own art and technique. I'm currently doing a 366 project, selected photos from which are shown here, but is documented in full on my Tumblr page.
