Matthew Johnston grew up in southeastern Connecticut and has always had a passion for nature. Matthew moved to Rhode Island in 2004 with his wife and children but his interest in photography didn't begin until the summer of 2007 when he began to frequent the local wildlife refuges. Since 2007 his interest has developed into a professional passion, and his style is loved and appreciated by photographers and art collectors alike. Matthew shoots with professional grade Nikon equipment and is a self taught photographer. Having never taken a class or attended a workshop, Matthew continues to impress fellow photographers and art collectors nationwide with his unique style and extraordinary perspectives, color usage, and vision. In the few years since Matthew's photographic journey began, his work has been sought after by publishers including the Boston Globe.
