'Motion, captured' is the name I've chosen to represent my automotive photography. While stationary cars can be beautiful (and sometimes even look fast), what really excites me is the rush of noise and colour as a racing machine blasts across my horizon. The slow-shutter speed of a panning shot isolates the subject; recording the background as a blur of colour and tone that is actually more realistic to how I remember the moment. I use wider-angle lenses than most motorsports photographers - because I believe that racing is as much about the tracks and scenery, as it is about the cars. I also enjoy documenting the 'behind the scenes' of racing; the people, the tools and spare-parts, the garages and culture.....my favourite time for this is at the end of the day when the racing is over, the light is good and the people (and machines) are relaxing.
