Nick De Clercq, 22, Ghent, Belgium.
I have been interested in photography since the age of 8 when my father brought home a SLR camera (a Japanees brand that I can't remember anymore). I always remember the day he gave me a plain camera so I wouldn't touch his SLR. From that day on I have always loved photography but never took the time to go into it.

In 2007, at the age of 18, I set sail on my first business adventure. Signing with Engel & Völkers (real estate) to become a Licence Partner / Owner and opening up a location for the brand in Sint-Martens-Latem, Belgium.
After starting my company I rediscovered my passion for photography by taking real estate photos.

Now 4 years later, I started a real estate photography company and I am taking real estate photos for multiple real estate agencies across Belgium.
And in my spare time, I am trying to catch up for lost time. Traveling as much as I can, for as long as I can. Here on 500px you can see some of my photos that I took during my travels.

People sometimes ask me when they see me taking photos, "Are you a professional?"
My answer is, "No. I am an not. A professional makes the majority of their income from the sale of their photographs. I would love to make a living out of it, but for now I just appreciate the feeling I get when capturing that one fraction of a second with the push of a button.
