Guangxi, you take my breath

Published March 10th, 2012

There are several ways in which Guangxi, South China, can take your breath. First, because it has some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth. Nothing compares to the smooth beauty of the gentle kart hills along Li river from Guilin to Yangshuo and beyond. And second, the mist can be so dense that you have difficulties getting what feels like fresh air. Its more like a vacuum. And if you are unlucky, you get the mist AND the sun and you can look for a stony, cold place to get some breaths of life-saving air.

Apart from all that, photos will turn out beautifully once you figure out what to do with the MIST! I chose to play with colors, pinhole, forms, silhouettes and contrast to get some more depth or at least something to enjoy.

But honestly, don't miss out on this wonder of nature. Go there, explore, ride a bike through karst hills and villages, it was defo one of the most enchanting things I have seen and I cant wait to go back!

I will definitely post more from this breathtaking experience.
