After graduating in Business Administration in São Paulo, Octavio Campos Salles started to work with one of his passions at the time, fly fishing. During 8 years he organized custom fly fishing trips at the dark water tributaries of the mighty Rio Negro, in the Amazon Rainforest. During this period he experienced first-hand the lifestyle of the traditional remote villages and the true untouched nature of the largest tropical rainforest in the world.

The transition to photography was natural. It first came from the need to register the remote places he visited with frequency. Today Octavio works full time with photography, both in assignments or licensing images from his growing image bank. He has won twice the most important bird photography contest in Brazil and had photos published by National Geographic.

Octavio also organizes special photo tours to the Pantanal, focused in photographing the mighty Jaguar, the largest cat in the Americas. Dates for 2012 are up, take a look at http://octaviosalles.com.br . Spaces are limited.
