It is the photographer, not the camera, that is the instrument." - Eve Arnold Phine Ka (1973, The Netherlands) is a self taught Fashion & Portrait photographer, currently based in London. She has been drawing and painting since her early childhood and started taking photographs in her teens, focusing mainly on travel photography. Back then, a lifelong fascination for foreign cultures and the way people express themselves in their everyday lives through their arts, make-up and clothing was born. Moving to London in 2009 sparked her love for fashion photography & portraiture and now she works in the UK and abroad. She loves storytelling through a single shot or a wider body of work and celebrates the beauty of each individual in front of her lens. Most of her portfolio is focused on (alternative and high) fashion editorial work with full creative teams, but she also photographs Model Portfolios, Portraits, Headshots and Look Books. Although she prefers to work with natural light and outdoors as much as the weather allows, Phine Ka likes working in her studio as well.
