During a visit to the Madikwe Game Reserve, we headed out early one morning hoping to capture some sunrise landscape shots on these plains. As we approached the middle of the plain, we noticed this battle-scarred male lion lying in the open, roaring his heart out to welcome the dawn. The light was fantastic, and so was the scenery. You really got the feeling that this lion is king of all he surveys...
