Though it now rides a river of grass, this skiff is still willing to try and stay afloat. It is hard to have your timbers age, your caulking dry out and the leaks set in as the gaps appear. Salvation and restoration can still be found....if only.

I admire greatly the work of Andrew Wyeth and if I try to find "direction" in my interpretive work, that is where I lean. I had the privilege of seeing his originals once in my life....and it made a a lasting impression...the earth tone...ochres and umbers....the use of egg tempra....marvelous....just marvelous.

This skiff was on the banks of the Severn River, just off Mobjack Bay in Virgina's Tidewater area.
