Macedonian director Milcho Manchevski made one of my favourite movies "Before the Rain" in 1994, partly around the uniquely beautiful tiny church of Sveti Jovan Kaneo, Saint John the Theologian, Kaneo.
The church stands on one of the finest spots of the Ohrid Lake shore on a high cliff and was built in the last decades of the 13th century.
