Last summer I discovered the hang out spot for Eastern Amberwings at the aroboretum. This week I returned to the exact same spot and there they were, much to my delight. I find these tiny inch long little dragonflies quite fascinating, their wings are so beautiful, like stained glass. Most people never notice them or if they do mistake them for wasps, for they are so small and also imitate the behavior of wasps in order to avoid being eaten by birds. I managed to catch this one resting for a moment atop this flower head.
