Perched atop the ridge of the California Foothills is a stunning emerald green forest where the fog meets the trees and the light dances and sparkles though the canopy above. It was nearing sunset and we pulled in to this cove of trees to see the setting sun bursting though the branches to create rays of light that illuminated the forest floor. The fog was so dense that the rays came and left in seconds. The whole time, the moisture from the trees rained down upon us as if we were in a rain storm though the only supply was the fog itself. The leaves glistened and sparkled like jewels with droplets as they formed. Just an bit up the road and it was clear and sunny blue skies. Such a remarkable forest living atop the rim of the California Coastal Foothills near Mt. Tamalpais.
