As you have probably guessed by now we had a family trip to this beautiful castle over the weekend. It takes about 4h driving to get there from where I live so we planned the visit on Saturday, to be able drive back on Sunday. As we arrived, we have realized straight from the parking lot, that the whole castle is scaffolded for renovations. I was devastated and gave up my plan to photograph it. Soon it started to rain heavily, and we were late, so we did not even go to Marion Bridge, the famous vantage point - we just did the castle tour inside which was fantastic, and called it a day. Sunday we wanted to go somewhere else, but it occurred to me that we have only seen *one side* of the castle - what if the other side is not scaffolded?! So we went again, and the Fairy Tale castle greeted us with a surprise in brilliant weather: the other side was not covered!! We got past the elbowing on the famous vantage point (Marionbrucke) and worked our way up above it on the steep rocky path, so I can have a slightly elevated view to see plains and the lakes behind. The view was unbelievable! So, never give up!:-))
