I was wondering if anyone would notice something a little unusual about one of the Lioness cubs I posted up yesterday, and seeing as a few of you did, allow me to explain: The one on the right of the frame was not squinting and neither was due to my line of focus somewhat askew, Ying Yai (the name of the eldest sister, the one you see here) is in fact cross-eyed.

Although her eyes were set the same as her sisters from birth, at around four months old for some reason they crossed, although no one I've spoken with so far seems to know the why. Aside from it being something of an oddity, Ying Yai doesn't seem to be affected by this with double vision or anything of that order … or if she is I'd have to say her other senses are more than able to balance things out, because if she did happen to see two of me lying on the ground taking photos of her sisters, she certainly had an uncanny knack for pouncing on the real me – LOL ;^)

Whatever the case, this little Lioness's memorising gaze is no less intense or marvellous to me than any Lion I've ever encountered, she is as she always will be, absolutely beautiful!
