Every year for a week in October our beautiful blue New Mexican skies play host 700+ hot air balloons. It's a site to be seen.
To all you native New Mexicans, especially those of you living in Albuquerque, you need to experience the morning Mass Ascension from the field. It's a unique experience.
In the days of film, it was often touted as one of the most photographed events in the world. Kodak used to sponsor the event, in fact for a long time it was known as the Kodak International Balloon Fiesta. However with the popularity of digital cameras Kodak's presence has diminished. They still have a large tent where you can make prints or CD from your memory cards right on the field.
