We spent 10 days camping at yosemite so I had a lot of time to learn how the light worked in the valley. This is the classic yosemite shot that everyone tries to take when they go there, so I wanted to be sure I had a pretty good shot of it that made it a little unique compared to others. I visited it several times during different days to try to get the best lighting/weather combo.
Ironically, this is from my first visit there. The cloud formations looked amazing that day so none of my other shots turned out as well as this one. I also took it from the old inspiration point, which is closer to the view that the first explorers witnessed and different from the tunnel view that all the cars and tour busses stop at.
