Revisited some of my ladybird images from earlier in the year when acquired my MP-E65. I had built a covered platform between a log pile and a rosebush in my back garden.

The morning sun shone over the rolled up bark in which this ladybird was roosting. In no time at all the ladybird rose and ran with focused intent towards this unsuspecting aphid. The aphid did not stand a chance ..... the ladybird had got a hold and was veraciously chewing at its abdomen. Once all the moisture had been consumed it turned and left the scene. The aphid still alive .........

This is a stacked image (composed from 2 images) and has been slightly cropped for compositional purposes.
