The renown international architect I. M. Pei (he of the Lourve Museum Pyramids fame) was brought out of retirement to design this, Doha's Museum of Islamic Art. Pei, ever the perfectionist, researched Islamic architecture for 6 months before he was able to create the design for this modern masterpiece. The interiors of the museum are stunning and play with light, shapes and patterns but this shot taken of the museum late at night truly shows us why this is one of the majestic sights of the entire Doha corniche.
