On the beautiful grounds of the Outrigger Keauhou Beach Resort on the Kona side of the Big Island, you will encounter a number of significant Hawaiian historical sites. My favorite, because of its picturesque qualities and reflections, is the Kings’s fishing pond (Po’o Hawai’i Pond).

In the background of this shot is a replica of a house that was originally built by King Kalakaua in the 1800’s.

If you are not a guest of the hotel, you can park next door at Kahalu’u Beach Park and enter the hotel grounds through a gate adjacent to the beach on the south side of the bay.

Thanks for your comments, votes and friendship!

Aloha,

Paul
