I've never ventured over to the East Pier at Whitby before, preferring to stick to the lovely curved boards of the West Pier, but I had decided on this trip to try to capture some different angles wherever possible.

I had visited the evening before, but the light wasn't playing ball due to a low cloud bank, but I took a few shots none-the-less for a recce and had settled on this composition for a long exposure. The following evening I headed back only for the light to disappear as soon as my camera was atop of the tripod ... now it was time to play the waiting game.

About an hour and a half passed and I had seem numerous fishermen, joggers and general tourists come and go and I am sure they were wondering what I was waiting for, they probably would have twigged when the light broke and saw the smile on my face ... patience rewarded, nice when that happens
