L’Ibisco è una pianta molto bella che dona ai giardini ed alle nostre case una sorta di allegria e felicità grazie ai suoi stupendi fiori molto colorati. L’Ibisco è originario delle zone tropicali e subtropicali dell’Asia, Africa, Australia mentre, in Europa, lo troviamo nelle zone a clima temperato, mediterraneo; in Italia è molto diffuso e nella parte centro-sud ne troviamo una specie che cresce in modo spontaneo, l’Ibisco Roseus con fiori rosa intenso. L’Ibisco una pianta coltivata soprattutto per scopo ornamentale e decorativo.

It is quite large, containing several hundred species that are native to warm-temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Member species are often noted for their showy flowers and are commonly known as hibiscus, sorrel, and flor de Jamaica, or less widely known as rosemallow. The genus includes both annual and perennial herbaceous plants, as well as woody shrubs and small trees. The generic name (hibískos), was the name Pedanius Dioscorides gave to Althaea officinalis
