An American Goldfinch leaps off a sunflower it was perched on and flies off to the next sunflower. Though perhaps not a technically perfect shot, I still like how the bird is suspended in mid-air, caught in a moment of time.
Photo taken in the Children's Garden at the Norfolk Botanical Garden in Norfolk, Virginia. The sunflowers and coneflowers planted at the garden provide food and cover that encourage these beautiful birds to visit, providing visitors to the garden, like myself, with great photo ops!
